UNICRI (United Nations Interregional Crime and Justice Research Institute):
Centre on Public-Private Security Policies – get involved

Visión general

In September 2009, UNICRI launched the programme Centre on Public-Private Security Policies as a UN facility to promote, plan and coordinate regional cooperation mechanisms worldwide to facilitate collaboration between Member States on subjects related to the protection of vulnerable targets, such as tourism places, commercial and financial centres, and Major Events. The Centre, strongly promotes dialogue between technology/solutions developers and end users, is supported by an open-ended group of public and private sector organizations, which is keen to engage new partners in the initiative.

The aim is to strengthen public-private partnerships (PPP) all around the word to enhance the protection of human life and places. The Centre was conceived to support the implementation of the UN Global Counter – Terrorism Strategy, which, in Section III, paragraph 13, encourages private sector cooperation in capacity-building programmes to identify and share best practices to prevent terrorist attacks on vulnerable targets.
